E&TSD is mainly responsible for design
      review, evaluation and approval of all engineering and
 technical documents, participation  and control  of quality
inspection and tests of items.
E&TSD is also responsible :
to  provide trained  and  competent engineering  staff   for assignment  to various  activities; to  develop  appropriate training  programmes for  required  personnel;  to manage and  coordinate all  technical activities with respect to site survey and environmental protection, Nuclear,Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (I&C) and civil, and review  the  analysis  and  evaluation  of  the  design   and performance  of  structures,  systems  and  components of NPPs  with  the  objective of  assessing  the risk to public health  and  safety  resulting from operation of the facility.
