Islamic Republic of Iran is a
                  signatory state to the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear
    Weapons Treaty (NPT). In this regard, Iran is committed  through  binding  agreement  with the  International AtomicEnergy (IAEA)  to  apply  safeguards to its special nuclear material and related  facilities.

Nuclear safeguards mainly comprise the following activities:

Nuclear materials control and accounting.
Nuclear Material inspection
Environmental sampling
Testing and analysis of the samples

All the above-mentioned activities  provide accurate and  careful supervision   and   monitoring,  so   that   nuclear   materials   are protected  against  unauthorized  removal,  theft,  illicit trafficking,
and  sabotage.  Appropriate safety  and  security  measures  will
be      taken      accordingly    in    response    to    such    events.
