Yazd Radiation Processing Center (YRPC),
located in the center of Iran's beautiful desert area,
in the city of Yazd, 700 Km south of Tehran and is one
of the newest industrial complex of Iran. The national irradiation
center of Yazd is going to play an important role in supporting the
medical and polymer industries. YRPC is mainly equipped with an
election accelerator, type Rhodotron TT200, made by IBA, with
outputs of 5 and 10 MeV beam lines and maximum power of 100
KW.
This multipurpse facility was organised to apply radiation research
in the field of applied radiation chemistry. The facility provides
suitable buildings for accelerator equipments, administration offices,
and necessary areas for the laboratory equipement (1700 sq. meters).
Two separate buildings were constructed to establish the guesthouse
accommodation. Overall, 32 onebedroom suits with supporting areas
are available for visitors.
The facility is being equiped with suitable under beam equipement.
The conveyer system, for the unit operation has been designed and
installed for product handling. The device for continous irradiation PE
tubes has been installed as well. Five technological lines for PE
tubes has been installed to provide opportunity of heat shrinkable
tubes production in a wide range of tubes diameters.
Prof. M. Haji Saeid, the director of YRPC is leading the group
engaged for FB technology implementation. Agriculture and Medicine in
Karaj and other Iranian scientific institutions (Polymer Research Center
of Iran, university of Yazd) has been established.
