-As a result of achieving a 9 year project by the Karaj Nuclear Agricultural Center associated with the AEOI Nuclear Science and Technology Research Center, combined with the cooperation of Iran rice research center, two new types of advanced rice crop resistant to drought, named Taher-Quds, derived from the famous Tarem-Hashemi brands, were successfully produced, and samples unveiled on Aug 14, in north of Iran.

-The new products enjoy comparative advantage from the quality point of view as well as quantity output to other similar crops. The new rice types ripe faster and yield 40% higher quantity as well as show more resistant to drought.

-The crops were cultivated and produced in sample experimental farms in northern Gilan province and are being expanded on larger scale in other rice growing areas.
