AEOI N UCLEAR POWER  PLANTS                          Nuclear  Power  Plant  Division
         (NPPD)  is  responsible  for  planning,  construction,
   commissionning,  decommissionning  and  nuclear  safety  of
Nuclear Power Plants. Major functions and responsibilities of NPPD
are  as  follows :
 Preparation and arrangement for govermental approval of long term
Nuclear Power Plants in Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI).  Budget  planning  and  financing for approved  Nuclear  Power  Plants and
operation  of  NPPs.
 Developement  of  organizational  structure  and  provision  required  expert
personel.
 Necessary measures for siting, design, engineering, construction, commissionning
and  operation  of  NPPs,  and  arrangements  for  technology   transfer  to   groups
within  AEOI  and  outside  AEOI  in  IRI.
 Arrangements  for  safe   and   reliable  operation   for  NPPs  and   provisions  of
appropriate  security  measures  for  the  physical  protection  of  NPP  sites.
 The  provision  of  appropriate  facilities  and   equipement  for   physical   protection
and  maintenance  of  NPPs,  nuclear  materials,  NPP's  site  and  boundaries.
 Developement  and  implementation of crisis management  and  emergency programs.
