Talmesi and Meskani Mines are located on Anarak ore district in the Central part of Iran, about 25 km of north west of Anarak Town. These deposits have been mined for more than 200 years, but the systematic exploration was carried out in 1935. These mines had experienced several discontinues operations for some periods, and have been closed since 1968 for copper ore exploitation. Up on the discovery of uranium mineralization, the AEOI has been done the supplementary prospection, and research studies in these areas.
This article presents the results of research studies of ore beneficiation from heaps, which have been dumped during several mining stages. Ore processing has been carried out using gravity and flotation methods. The best results have been obtained from the flotation method, which was accomplished after grinding and one stage desliming. The final concentrate, after flotation and two stages of cleaning, includes 36.64% copper with 62% recovery, 2.14% nickel, 781 p.p.m uranium and 1.25 p.p.m gold, respectively.
